Cloud Security Solution ‘QueryPie,’ Hires Kwan Soo Park as Chief Strategy Officer

Checker, the developer of cloud security solution "QueryPie," has appointed Kwan Soo Park as its Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to lead its global business expansion. As Checker prepares to enter the Japanese market, Park will oversee its investment and business strategy, starting with Japan and expanding into the U.S. and other global markets.

Park is a seasoned business leader with experience at Accenture, Kakao Corporation (as VP), and Carrot General Insurance (as CSO). He has played a key role in guiding platform businesses from market entry to growth and was instrumental in identifying promising startups through Kakao Investment, a corporate venture capital arm of Kakao. Even in emerging markets like AgTech and B2B SaaS—where securing unit economics is challenging—Park made bold investment decisions based on long-term growth potential. He continues to maintain strong relationships with numerous startup founders, supporting their global expansion efforts.

Park has a long-standing connection with Checker's CEO, Inseo Hwang. As a former developer, Hwang joined Kakao early in his career, where he first met Park, who was then a VP. Later, when Hwang faced difficulties securing investment for his B2B SaaS startup, Park recognized Checker's business potential and decided to invest, allowing the company to continue its operations. Since then, Park has been a key advisor, providing critical insights to support Checker's growth.

Checker, which launched the Cloud Data Protection Platform (CDPP) "QueryPie," has acquired over 70 tech company clients in just two years, achieving triple-digit annual growth. With a focus on entering Japan’s next-generation cloud security market, the company has been actively preparing for its expansion since last year. Drawing on his extensive experience in global strategy at Kakao and 11st, Park officially joined Checker this month. He will work closely with CEO Inseo Hwang to secure key investors and global vendors in Japan as part of the company's market entry strategy.

Recently, Checker secured strategic investment (SI) from Salesforce Ventures and Z Venture Capital (ZVC) and formed a partnership with Ashisuto, a leading Japanese software services company, to accelerate its expansion into Japan.

Kwan Soo Park, CSO of Checker, stated, “Despite the challenges faced by startups in 2023, the potential of cloud-native security technology and its global market growth remained clear. Japan is a completely different market from Korea, requiring us to build everything from the ground up. However, working alongside CEO Hwang in Japan, I’ve personally witnessed the market competitiveness of Checker. With the support of Salesforce Ventures, ZVC, and Ashisuto, we will push forward aggressively into the global market.”
